Community Needs Assessment
The main objective of this effort is to identify the needy in South Snohomish County (low-income families, homeless, single parent or guardian, elderly, etc) and their most-obvious, specific needs, by group (who, how many, living arrangement, location, short-term needs, long-term needs, etc). We also need to know how much low-income housing exists, and is planned, in our local area and where is it located. It would also be helpful to understand related needs in our local schools.
End product: A brief written report summarizing the results of this work. Information sources and contacts used should be included for future reference.
Note: The definition of need here is requirements a person can not meet themselves and not what remains after some aid has been given. Community resources will be addressed elsewhere. Needs aren’t necessarily related to income level, e.g. an elderly person living independently is potentially in need of help with some of the little things of life that a person can not hire another to do.
This task needs to be accomplished ASAP.
